Ice Cream

I remember being a child, and wishing my parents would just be cool enough to remember what it was like to be a kid. Every once in a while, they did. Like the time my dad gave us chocolate cake and ice cream for breakfast. Staying up extra late for no particular reason, or sleeping in the backyard on a school night. Stuff like that. So I guess sometimes they did remember pretty well what it was like to be a kid.

Last night, after the kids were all in bed with their teeth brushed and in pj's, prayers and everything, we were cuddled together reading books. I got up and told Brooklyn it was time for sleep, and she whispered something in Tom's ear, something he thought was rather cute and funny. He whispered something back and they both started laughing hysterically. Tom lepped up and said, "we are going to get ice cream, who is coming?!" Of course we were all in shock, and it was so ridiculous and spontaneous that even I went along with it. The kids thought it was the best thing EVER! Way to go crazy dad! Thanks for remembering what it's like to be a kid. :)
